There will be three months of programming focused on the hot summer days that follow at Banhos Velhos.

In July, on the 9th, the month begins with a double musical offering in one night: Bed Legs, a rock blues band from Braga that released their first full-length album this year, entitled “Black Bottle”, and The Wild Booze, a quartet from Taipa preparing to release their new studio album of original songs. On the same day, in the afternoon, there will be the second meeting of the Portuguese Literature Course, where some of the most important works of Portuguese literature since the 18th century will be discussed.

Throughout the rest of July, there will also be an astronomy night, in partnership with the Instituto de Ciência Viva, and a special edition of “Shortcutz” to close the month, which will screen some of the films that have already been shown in competition at this cultural event that premiered this year in Guimarães. The selection for this session includes animated films, fictional dramas, and horror films, showcasing the versatility of film production. Also noteworthy is the presentation by the collective “Outra Voz,” which will present a performance entitled “Stories, Stones and Food in the Old Baths.” This show was created and inspired by the history of the Old Baths, as well as this unique space in the village of Caldas das Taipas.

In August, the month begins on the 6th with a concert by Norberto Lobo, one of the leading figures in contemporary Portuguese music, an independent and empirical artist who doesn't ironize about the future or destiny, but rather acts, operates, and materializes, thus transforming his world and that of those who listen to and follow him throughout his career. Debuting with 'Mudar de Bina' at Porto's Bor Land in 2007, he already has 5 albums in his discography as a solo artist, with his previous album 'Mel Azul' winning the Time Out Lisbon album of the year award and being nominated for best independent European album. On the 27th, there's a new musical offering with Sensible Soccers, one of the most popular new Portuguese music projects in recent years. In 2016, they released their third album of original songs, entitled "Villa Soledade," acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. The opening act will also be the Braga-based band LEVIATÃ. On August 20th, the first meeting of the Banhos Velhos Reading Club will take place, a result of the two sessions of the Portuguese literature course.

September, the month of closing doors, will bring a new and final musical offering with a show by B Fachada, an unavoidable name in the national music scene of the last decade. With new work in 2016, B Fachada establishes himself as the greatest bastion of the new wave of Portuguese composers, with a long career as a composer, producer, and lyricist. He has worked with Sérgio Godinho, Diabo na Cruz, Deolinda, among many others.
All events are free to attend.
