How does this work?
Consult your family doctor, ask for a prescription for thermal treatments (P1) and schedule your appointment with our hydrologist doctor at Taipas Termal.
Thermal therapy should be followed for twelve to twenty-one days according to the mandatory medical prescription that precedes the treatments. Normally, the patient dedicates part of the day (morning or afternoon) to the daily period of prescribed medical treatments. Respiratory tract treatments last approximately one hour per day. At the end of the series of treatment sessions, the patient undergoes a follow-up medical consultation. Payment for all prescribed thermal treatments is made immediately after the initial hydrology consultation.

The Taipas Thermal Baths are headed by Dr. Nuno Dias de Castro, whose expertise in Hydrology and Climatology is recognized by the Portuguese Medical Association. The team also includes Dr. Elisabete Alves, who holds a Postgraduate Degree in Climatology and Medical Hydrology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
The spa technicians have the most up-to-date training, in order to provide our clients with the most appropriate treatment techniques such as hydromassage and air bubble baths, needle and Vichy showers, column steam, irrigations, sprays and nebulizations, aerosols and thermal mud applications.
