On December 5th, at 10:00 PM, the Taipas Termal auditorium will open its doors to host the cultural project EXCENTRICITY – OTHER STAGES MORE CULTURE.

This project, developed by the Municipality of Guimarães, has the strategic objective of creating new centers for artistic and cultural consumption/creation (in the fields of dance, music, theater, and cinema). The project aims to operate within the municipality, in new venues, and offer the same philosophy implemented in the city's cultural spaces: to add new layers of cultural meaning to the already established, to create new opportunities for audiences and creators, to generate higher levels of development for citizens as cultural beings, and to contribute to the strengthening of human relationships, responsible citizenship, awareness, and sharing.

On the first Saturday of December, at the Taipas Termal auditorium, two musicians and a singer prepared a project revisiting the history of American cinema through the melodies that definitively marked the 20th century. This journey through the most significant Hollywood themes is supported by an explanatory narration for the audience, revealing details about the identity of each film.

…The lights come on, the audience falls silent…and The Show Must Go On, is the motto of this tribute.

From Charlie Chaplin's "Smile" to Liza Minnelli's "Cabaret," passing through "Over The Rainbow," "Dream a Little Dream," "Summertime," "Moon River," "It's One a Paper Moon," "New York, New York," "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," "Miss Celie's Blues," "The Hills Are Alive," "When You Wish Upon a Star," and so many other songs that, in one way or another, have marked our lives.
