THE Over the years, Vila das Taipas has been a destination for various personalities who have marked the history of the country. In the field of Literature, renowned authors such as Camilo Castelo Branco and Ferreira de Castro spent part of their time in this locality and wrote about it. Based on this fond memory and connection to the literary phenomenon, the Municipality of Guimarães, the Parish Council of Caldelas, and Taipas Termal considered it important to highlight this passage of great authors through our land, as well as to revive this fine tradition of having among us and interacting with us major names from the literary scene, as well as from other areas of expression.
The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Guimarães City Hall, the Caldelas Parish Council and the Taipas Termal Cooperative, and will take place in May.
Last Saturday, March 22nd, the first edition of Thermos - Literary Encounters of Caldas das Taipas was presented at the Termas building.
The event will take place on May 30th and 31st . Dulce Maria Cardoso, Luís Filipe Castro Mendes, Cláudia Lucas Chéu, and Lauren Mendinueta are the featured authors in this 1st edition, alongside creative residencies that include poet Luís Aguiar and illustrator and watercolorist Ana Gil.
