650 young athletes competed this Saturday in the prestigious Taipas Termal Cup 2016 Football Tournament, the largest single-day tournament in the region for non-federated athletes.
The Clube Caçadores das Taipas organized the 5th consecutive edition of the Taipas Termal Cup Tournament, with the participation of 48 teams in the under-7, under-8, and under-9 categories, played on the natural grass and synthetic grass fields of the Montinho Stadium in Caldas das Taipas.
Taipas Termal is the main sponsor of this sporting event, and its President, Ricardo Costa, was present at the awarding of the team trophies. In addition to the trophies, the three winning teams of the tournament will receive guaranteed entry to the Taipas Termal Summer Pools for one day.
Regarding the results, after 120 games played, the final standings highlighted the teams of SARC, Brito SC and SL Benfica, respectively the winners of the Tournament in Traquinas A, Traquinas B and Petizes categories. In second and third place on the podium were the teams of CC Taipas and FC Famalicão (Traquinas A 2007), SARC and SL Benfica (Traquinas B 2008) and Brito SC and Amigos de Urgeses (Petizes 2009/2010).
The following teams also participated in this tournament: GD Joane, Pevidém SC, FC Vizela, Dragon Force, EA Sporting Barcelos, GDU Torcatense, Vitória SC, SC Braga, GD Ponte, Fintas, Tabuadelo, CCD STA Eulália, AD Oliveirense and Barco AC.
