After returning to activity in 2021, where a decade of cultural programming was celebrated, the Caldas das Taipas/Guimarães cultural museum returns for its 11th edition with music, cinema, gatherings, lectures, educational services and exhibitions.
The agenda for the 4 months of cultural programming will feature more than a dozen initiatives, with free admission.
In music, highlights include shows by Manuel Cruz on June 24th, the day celebrating the eleventh anniversary of cultural activity; by Paraguaii and Postcards, a group from Lebanon, in July; by the return of Bruno Pernadas in August, and Samuel Úria in September. Finally, the traditional Fado Night with the Vila Fado Group will also be held in August.
There will also be plenty of educational activities, such as guided tours of the Old Baths and an evening dedicated to astronomy in July. Throughout the 4 months there will also be gatherings of the most varied kinds; from conversations about history, in which the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Augusto Dias de Castro, a unique personality in the town of Caldas das Taipas and the municipality of Guimarães, will be discussed, or the 10th anniversary of Guimarães – European Capital of Culture 2012.
The cinema will mark its return in July with the film “The French Dispatch: Chronicles of France” by Wes Anderson and, in August, with the film “Licorice Pizza” by Paul Thomas Anderson. All initiatives will be adapted to the current contingency measures and will take place in alternative spaces in the village of Caldas das Taipas. All events are free of charge but limited to existing capacity.
The dates and times of the entire schedule are subject to change according to current measures/restrictions related to COVID-19. All information regarding the cultural agenda should be checked regularly on the official Facebook page of Banhos Velhos or at www.taipastermal.com.
