The first event on the 2022 cultural agenda will take place next Friday at 9:30 pm in Largo das Termas, Caldas das Taipas, with a discussion about the centenary of the birth of Dr. Augusto Dias de Castro, a unique figure in Taipas and Guimarães society.
The panel, moderated by professor and historian António José Oliveira, will include Dr. Nuno Remísio Dias de Castro, Clinical Director of the Taipas Thermal Baths; Mr. Manuel Ferreira, 1st President of the Board of Directors and founding member of the Taipas Turitermas Cooperative; Dr. Antonio Joaquim Azevedo Oliveira, member of the 1st and 2nd Fiscal Councils of the Taipas Turitermas Cooperative; and Dr. Isabel Fernandes, director of the Castle, the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza and the Alberto Sampaio Museum.
This will be the first event of the month of June, which will also include, on the 8th, a discussion about the 10th anniversary of Guimarães – European Capital of Culture 2012, and will end on the 24th, the anniversary day, with a new musical performance by Manuel Cruz.
