On Monday, the Board of Directors of the Taipas Turitermas Cooperative received a visit from Luís Soares, a Member of Parliament elected for the Braga District, and Domingos Bragança, the Mayor of Guimarães. This visit was part of an invitation extended by the Taipas Turitermas Cooperative to the elected Members of Parliament for the Braga District to visit the sports complex at the campsite, which opens at the end of June.

Following the renovation of the Banhos Novos building and the inauguration of the Health Clinic in September 2015, the renovation of the sports complex is a project that is part of a "recovery plan for the thermal resort, drawn up in 2009 and which is being implemented," began the President of the Cooperative, Ricardo Costa.

The President of the Council emphasized that the sports facility will be at the service of the community. "It will be open to associations, athletes, and anyone who may need to use the space, so we intend to listen to the associations of the village of Caldas das Taipas and use their contributions in order to draw up regulations for the use of the space."

Satisfied with the progress of the works, the work developed by the Cooperative, and the revitalization of that sports facility, Domingos Bragança also revealed that the city hall will tender the requalification work on Alameda Rosas Guimarães and the pedestrian path that connects the campsite to Banhos Velhos, so that the enjoyment is complete, which he classified as a "profound requalification of the natural park of the village of Caldas das Taipas." Finally, the mayor stated that "you can always count on our proximity and attentive eye to everything that needs to be done in this emblematic village of the municipality of Guimarães."

Luís Soares highlighted the close relationship he has maintained with the institutions of the District, and particularly with the institutions of Guimarães, believing that " this proximity allows us to support the work that is done in parliament" .

According to the Guimarães deputy, this requalification is part of the strategy defined by the municipality and the Taipas Turitermas Cooperative to enhance a central heritage of Guimarães, which are the thermal baths and tourism.

"It was a good thing that the municipality of Guimarães, in 2013, as the main shareholder, decided to renovate the Banhos Novos building and extend that renovation to the thermal park. I think that little by little we are seeing here an example that should be cherished not only by all the inhabitants of Taipas and Guimarães, but also by those who appreciate this type of tourism."

The deputy challenges the leaders present to bring this example to the Assembly of the Republic so that it can be incorporated into its relevant committees (the Economy Committee, which oversees the area of Tourism), considering it an example to follow at the national level.

“This is an innovative and ambitious concept that has a dimension that involves the community and goes beyond simply treating thermal products intended for the elderly. It ranges from the work done in a health clinic to the work done in thermal spas, but also focuses on a younger audience with this multi-sport concept.”

Luís Soares congratulated the Guimarães City Council and the Taipas Turitermas CIPRL Cooperative, emphasizing that "a Mayor who understands the demands of a territory and who prioritizes these interventions in the city hall's actions is a source of pride as a member of parliament and as a citizen of this land, which is the village of Taipas."
