The Senior Thermalism Program is valid for all holders of the Municipal Senior Citizen Card of the municipality of Guimarães and for all residents of the town of Caldas das Taipas , aged 65 or over.
This program offers unique advantages in accessing thermal treatments:
- Free registration; (Save €30.00)
Discount on initial hydrology consultation - only €25.00; (Save €10.00.)
- 50% discount on thermal treatments prescribed by a hydrologist;
- Co-payment of up to 35% discount (maximum of €95.00) through a medical prescription (P1) from your Family Doctor.
Those interested in participating in the Senior Thermalism Program only need to present, at the Taipas Termal counters, the registration form from the Caldelas Parish Council, if they are residents of Caldas das Taipas, or present their identification and the Municipal Senior Citizen Card for other users from the municipality.
The Directorate-General of Health has recognized the thermal waters of Caldas das Taipas as suitable for the treatment of certain pathologies that can contribute to healthy aging. It is primarily in rheumatic pathologies that thermalism proves to be an effective therapy, thus contributing to a healthier life.
This program is valid between the months of November and March.
