According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease." Therefore, it is important to pay attention to and prioritize our mental health, just as we care about our physical health.
In fact, many times, physical symptoms that may arise and cause us strangeness and concern – such as fatigue, headaches, stomach aches, chest pains, breathing difficulties, among others – end up being a reflection of our psychological state, affecting our quality of life. Because, after all, as the old proverb says: "a healthy mind in a healthy body"!
Thus, in the same way that we monitor our physical health (or should), from regular check-ups/exams to consultations with our doctor when any physical symptom arises, and in the same way that we are advised to have routine check-ups – “because health is not something to be taken lightly” – psychological screenings are equally important. These aim to assess our mental health, detect problems early, such as cognitive, behavioral and/or emotional disorders, and also risky and/or disruptive behaviors that may lead to them in the future. The examinations offer an opportunity to detect mental and psychological dysfunctions as early as possible, and are also preventive in nature.
Our Psychological Screenings are conducted by specialized and accredited professionals in the field of Psychology, lasting an average of 30 minutes and using, if necessary, appropriate psychological assessment techniques and instruments. In addition to their evaluative and preventative nature, these sessions also serve to clarify the processes of psychological consultation and intervention, and the various areas of Psychology, including guidance for intervention when deemed necessary, as well as referral to the most appropriate professional.
