Taipas Termal now has a cardiologist, Dr. Francisco Sousa, on staff. Dr. Francisco Sousa holds a degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, and subsequently specialized in Cardiology.
Senior Assistant in Cardiology since 2005, former tutor of Cardiology at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho, member of the final examination boards for the respective internship.
He published and presented, at scientific meetings, more than 100 research papers in the area of Cardiology and Medicine; he was a supervisor of Residents in the Complementary Cardiology Internship program and also responsible for the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit at the Sra. de Oliveira Hospital in Guimarães.
