With a view to preventing influenza, the Taipas Termal Nursing Center has developed a free vaccination campaign.
Influenza is an acute viral disease that predominantly affects the respiratory tract and usually occurs during the winter, hence the term "seasonal." To date, influenza activity in Portugal has been moderate; however, according to the Directorate-General of Health (DGS), an increase in the number of cases is expected in the coming weeks.
Influenza vaccination is strongly recommended for priority target groups, such as people aged 65 and over, chronically ill and immunocompromised patients aged 6 months and over, pregnant women, healthcare professionals, and other caregivers. If you belong to one of these groups, bring your vaccine and we will administer it free of charge (campaign valid until the end of January).
Although vaccination is especially recommended until the end of the calendar year, it can be done until the end of winter. Don't be fooled by the good weather in recent weeks, "Rain or shine, get vaccinated!"
